The Leadership and Responsible Organizations Foundation (FLOR), created by Andrea Grobocopatel in Argentina, awarded the National Tax Court an award in the category Public sector, in recognition of work on inclusion.
At a ceremony held on Monday (18.09.2023) in the City of Buenos Aires, the jury explained that the mission of the initiative is “to disseminate and recognize those organizations for which managing diversity is part of their strategy and values, as a source of innovation and creativity in the face of the challenges of today's world.”
According to the FLOR Foundation, some 74 applications were registered to be nominated in 5 categories: Large Companies, SMEs, NGOs, Public Sector and LATAM
Such organizations were evaluated by a jury Honorary Committee composed of: Ana Inés Álvarez (Executive Director of the AVON Foundation), Francisco Ortega (Senior Partner at McKinsey), Jorge Mandelbaum (former President of CIPPEC), Iván de Pineda (host and presenter), María Noel Vaeza (Regional Director of the UN for the Americas and the Caribbean), Rebeca Hwang (Co-founder of Rivest Ventures) and Santiago Chaher (Vice President of the FLOR Foundation).
In his acceptance speech for the Award, the President of the Tax Court, Miguel Licht, expressed his deep and sincere gratitude to the FLOR Foundation and stressed that "it is the first award in the history of the Tax Court. We made many efforts and we are convinced that behind every need there is a legitimate right." Among other things, he also said that "rights are based on diversity. We are all diverse, each one has a different DNA that makes us unique, but we are part of a collective life project."
The National Tax Court, which is part of the Undersecretariat of Public Revenue of the Ministry of Economy, has an "unquestionable" commitment to guarantee justice in tax matters, ensuring impartiality and an equitable distribution of fiscal responsibilities, in order to promote the common good.
