The process for the physical inspection of goods in the import regime for consumption of the Callao Maritime Customs Office will be reduced by three to four hours with the implementation of the new Single Physical Recognition (RFU) service., reported this Tuesday (20.09.2022) the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat) of Peru.
This new service allows for simultaneous verification of goods and evaluation of documents supporting the declaration, the technical body explained.
The RFU, implemented by Sunat, streamlines the authorization process for the disposal of goods, optimizing the use of resources and benefiting more than 18,000 shipments, subject to the red channel, that are carried out each year.
This new service saves time for customs employees to travel to Sunat offices to register the free disposal of goods, since a mobile application has been implemented that allows them to record images of the goods, notes and the result of the physical examination on a tablet.
The information obtained in the field will beto be evaluated “online” in a manner immediately and simultaneously by another collaborator, granting the release of the goods and streamlining the entire procedure for the benefit of foreign trade users, who will be able to have their goods in less time.
This service It will also be available, from October 3, for procedures carried out at the Air and Postal Customs Office and, in a second stage, for the definitive export regime.
Sunat continues its modernization process by implementing digital tools that streamline its procedures and reduce service time for the benefit of its foreign trade users.
