Staff from the General Directorate of Customs (DGA) participated in an international seminar on “Criminal Intelligence Analysis in the Prevention of Terrorism, Organized Crime and its Financing in the Port and Airport Environment"since the fight against organized crime and drug trafficking is a central objective of this administration," indicates the statement released today (07.11.2023).
The training, which was developed from 30 from October to 3 from November, was dictated by trainers of the Spanish Civil GuardOfficials from the United Nations: Alberto Arean Varela, Regional Coordinator for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Container Control Programme of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC-WCO); and Nicolás Benza, Coordinator for the Southern Cone of the same programme.
The DGA also reported that the instruction addressed terrorism background, intelligence and criminal analysis to prevent crimes and possible current threats. "These activities are of great importance since the commitment is to continue generating tools that allow us to combat money laundering and illegal activities that pose a threat to the country," it clarified.
The closing of the activity was attended by Jessica Kuhn, First Secretary of the U.S. Embassy.
The training was held in the hall of the Sole Union of Customs Personnel of the Argentine Republic (SUPARA), where all federal forces participated: Argentine Federal Police, Argentine Naval Prefecture, Airport Security Police, Argentine National Gendarmerie and the Criminal Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Security.
