Panama put into effect a new customs declaration system for exports

-

Panama has implemented the automation and electronic transmission of the Central American Single Declaration (DUCA-F), which is used for exports of goods originating in the region.

EThe new system has been in effect since October 5, 2020, reported Panama Customs. And invited to learn about the guide for the country's exports to Central America with free trade treatment, according to the project that is being carried out jointly by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the National Customs Authority and the Secretariat for Central American Integration (SIECA).

The DUCA is a document that unites the three main customs declarations that cover the trade of goods in Central America, says the information from Sieca, whose format was approved by the Resolution 409-2018 of the Council of Ministers of Economic Integration (COMIECO).

This declaration integrates the format of the Central American Single Customs Form (FAUCA), which is used for the intraregional transit of originating goods; the declaration for International Land Customs Transit (DUT), which is implemented for the international land transit of goods in Central America; and the Merchandise Declaration, known as DUA or DM, which is required for trade with countries outside the region.

The application of the DUCA came into force in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama as of May 07, 2019.

This is a trade facilitation measure, the result of the efforts of the region's customs services, as well as the Council of Ministers of Economic Integration; and constitutes a firm step towards strengthening the process of Central American economic integration, according to Sieca.
