The National Customs Authority (ANA) and the Customs and Border Protection Office of the United States Embassy in Panama met on Monday (16.01.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX) to strengthen ties of cooperation, the agency reported.
During the meeting, the head of security for the border container program, Nathan Edward, received from ANA Director General Tayra Barsallo the project “Invisible Shield” which includes providing security through a nationwide monitoring system, as well as the installation of scanners in the country's most important ports and other control points.
Barsallo said it is necessary to strengthen the exchange of information in both directions, which will allow progress in high-profile investigations.
The visit also included a tour of the facilities of the new ANA headquarters and the Monitoring and Control Center, where work is currently being done on all the logistics required to launch this project.
It is worth remembering that the main objective of the “Invisible Shield” project is to facilitate trade and traceability for a secure supply chain.
