New virtual meeting on the regional authorized economic operator

The directors of Customs of America celebrated a virtual meeting linked to the Draft Regional Mutual Recognition Agreement for Authorized Economic Operators (OAS) on Thursday (13.08.2020/XNUMX/XNUMX), reported the Superintendency of Tax Administration (SAT) of Guatemala.

El Key objective of the meeting was to reach out to those who run programs OEA in the signatory countries of the São Paulo Declaration and to motivate the continuation of joint work, with the purpose of reaching the Regional Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA), SAT stated from its Twitter account.

The virtual event featured the participation of the iSAT Customs Superintendent, Werner Ovalle, representing the Regional Vice-Presidency of the World Customs Organization. 

Also present at the meeting were:  responsible for OAS programs Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Paraguay, Dominican Republic and Uruguay, as well as representatives of the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation.

On the Regional Mutual Recognition Agreement

The Regional ARM initiative has been promoted since November 2017 with the aim of ensuring high levels of customs security throughout the supply chain of goods, promoting the harmonization and standardization of processes linked to the Authorized Economic Operator Programs and the optimization of resources, aligning ourselves with international trends in the negotiation of ARMs, thus contributing to the commercial and economic integration of America.
