Representatives from Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, members of the Pacific Alliance, participated in the Subregional Virtual Workshop on “Best Practices in Electronic Commerce”"Organized by the Global Trade Facilitation Programme of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the World Customs Organization (WCO), in collaboration with the Observer State of the Palestinian Authority.
Over three days (13-15 July 2021) more than 100 participants, including Vice Ministers of Trade of the Pacific Alliance countries, high-level officials from SECO, Customs Administrations, border agencies and representatives of the private sector, exchanged good practices in the implementation of measures aimed at facilitating electronic commerce in the region, with regard to the import, export and transit of commercial goods, as well as in the knowledge of the challenges and recommendations from the private sector.
Thus, through group plenaries and question and answer sessions, participants They identified the lines of action and specific measures that will facilitate the processing of electronic commerce transactions; in addition, the need to continue working together.
A final document will be prepared containing the main recommendations issued at the Workshop on “Best Practices in Electronic Commerce”, the WCO announced.
