In January, the collection reached $ 527.284,5 millones which represents a variation of the 44,9% compared to the same month last year, the Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) reported in a press release.
"Tax revenues continue to be affected by the recession and the deterioration of labour market indicators," the report said.
"In this sense, tax revenues in January reflect the performance of the economy at the end of last year. This is because a significant portion of taxes collected in January correspond to activities carried out during December 2019," he said.
"In fact, more than half of the resources generated in January by the Value Added Tax reflect operations carried out the previous month. Income from this concept registered a variation of 48,8% in January compared to the same month in 2019," explains the AFIP.
January tax collection offers the first data for the COUNTRY tax which taxes 30% on purchases of dollars for savings or spending abroad. The amount collected for this purpose amounted to $3181 million.
As for the income from Export Duties, were $23.979,3 million in January, an increase of 54% year-on-year. Likewise, the collection for Import Duties and Statistical Rate amounted to $16.415,1 million, an increase of 69,7%
In the case of the Social Security System, the resources also reflect what happened in December. Income from this concept increased by 38,4% in January compared to the same month of the previous year.
"Income tax collection increased by 34,8% compared to the same month in 2019," the agency said.
The Tax on Credits and Debits in Current Accounts collected $35.776,2 million, 47% more than the same period of the previous year.
The controversial Personal Property Tax collected $869,2 million, a variation of 117,1% compared to 2019.
On the other hand, the fuel tax collected $11.733,8 million in January, 19% more year-on-year.
Finally, the AFIP highlighted that last month's tax collection offered the first data for the PAIS Tax. The amount collected for this concept amounted to $3181 million. The data includes the first three weeks of January as well as the collections made between the entry into force of the Law of Productive Recovery and Social Solidarity and the regulation of the tax.
