Tax collection in April reached $ 2.551.511,4 millones, "mainly affected by the performance of taxes associated with foreign trade in the face of the impact of the drought," according to the statement released this Tuesday (02.05. 2023) by the Ministry of Economy.
"Excluding the taxes mentioned above, revenues grew by 104,5% year-on-year, while if these taxes are included, the increase reached +90,2%," he added.
Taxes linked to economic activity contributed to the growth of national revenue. Within this group, the following stand out: IVA which, at just over 921.000 billion pesos, showed an increase of 117,3% year-on-year.
El VAT DGI, linked to domestic activity, increased by 130,6% while VAT DGA only grew by 96,7%. Refunds of that tax reached 18.000 billion pesos, with an increase of 168,7%.
The other taxes that exceeded one hundred percent increase in year-on-year collection were: shared internal taxes (128,0%), other co-participated (113,3%) and those linked to employment growth such as Personal Contributions (104,7%) and the employers' associations (116,3%), followed by that of the Credits and Debits (98,7%).
In resources of the Social Security, Revenues grew by 110,7% and sustained high growth rates, deepening the expansionary trend observed in recent months and salary improvements persist as a factor explaining said expansion.
For the Tax on Personal property presented an increase of 69,3% year-on-year, while the Income Tax registered a variation of 88% driven by the increase in the amount of taxed wages and the amount of operations reached and the perception applied to the purchase of foreign currency arranged in July.
En Export Duties $50.561 billion was collected, which meant a year-on-year drop of 48,0%, explained by the drought, compared to $97.229 billion in April of the previous year.
In contrast, Import Duties y Statistical Rate were $72,850 billion, up 61,6% from $45.092 billion in April last year.
