WCO and CCLEC held a virtual dialogue on the Caribbean

Authorities of the World Customs Organization (WCO) for the Americas and the Caribbean, and the representative of the Caribbean Customs Law Enforcement Council (CCLEC) held a virtual meeting this Wednesday (18.08.2021/XNUMX/XNUMX), reported the WCO Regional Office.

The conversations of the WCO Regional Vice President Werner Ovalle and CCLEC Permanent Secretary Andy Sandy focused on aspects to promote joint actions in support of the countries of the Caribbean region.

Remember that the Caribbean Customs Law Enforcement Council is a multilateral regional organization, created to improve cooperation and the exchange of information among its members. The initiative was formalized in 1989 with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on the Prevention of Smuggling and Other Customs Offences in the Caribbean Area, which has served to facilitate the exchange of information and mutual assistance between customs administrations.

Today, the CCLEC has 34 countries Members: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, British Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Canada, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Dominican Republic, France, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Montserrat, Netherlands, Netherlands Antilles, Panama, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadine, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos, United Kingdom, United States of America and Venezuela.
