The Argentine trade balance reached in November with a surplus of USD 1.399 billion, which represents a year-on-year jump of 215,8, reported this Monday (19.12.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX) the National Institute of Statistics and Census (Indec).
The surplus almost tripled in November compared to the balance reached in the same month last year, which was USD 424 million.
This improvement in the surplus is explained by a growth in exports coupled with strong restrictions on imports.
According to official data, in November Argentina completed Exports amount to USD 7.089 million, 14,5% more than the same month in 2021.
Meanwhile, Imports totaled USD 5.750 billion, which represented a year-on-year contraction of 0,3%, due to a 1,1% drop in prices, as quantities increased by 0,8%. There had not been a year-on-year drop in imports since October 2020, Indec said.

Compared to November 2021, the main exported items showed significant sales increases: agricultural manufactures rose 18,9%; primary products increased 14,8%, and industrial manufactures grew 11,8%.

In November of this year, the country exported USD 82.293 million, with a year-on-year increase of 15,3%, and imported USD 76.493 million, with an increase of 34,3% compared to the same period in 2021.
The main destinations of Argentine sales abroad were Brazil, China, United States, Chile, India, the Netherlands, Vietnam, Peru, the Republic of Korea and Indonesia, in that order, and together they accounted for 56,6% of total exports.
