The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) reported today (17.05.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX) that in the presence of specialized agents Work began on filling the pipeline at the “Puesto Hernández” Pumping Station, in the Province of Neuquén.
The immediate end of the action is to resume, after more than 15 years of inoperability of the pipeline -which belongs to the firm Oleoducto Trasandino SA-, the export of crude oil to the Republic of Chile.
The filling of the pipeline will involve a volume of approximately 53.000 m3 oil, for which the firms YPF SA, Equinor Argentina BV Sucursal Argentina, Petronas E&P Argentina SA, Shell Argentina SA and Vista Energy Argentina SAU documented exports for consumption with the corresponding due payment of duties.
Once the filling tasks are completed - and with the corresponding authorization from the Energy Secretariat - 6.500 mXNUMX will begin to be pumped.3 daily crude oil shipments to the trans-Andean country, which will mean a monthly income of approximately USD 86.000.000 for Argentina.
In this regard, the Director General of Customs, Guillermo Michel, said: "The rapid response of the Customs is a sign of the importance of the agency for the accumulation of reserves that the country requires; with its work, it is present in every corner of Argentina."
The 425-kilometer pipeline connects the oil fields in northern Neuquén, from Puesto Hernández, to the ENAP refinery in Biobío, Chile, through the Andes Mountains.
