New “Monitored Export” procedure in Argentina

-

The Customs Collection and Control Agency (ARCA) implemented the “Monitored Export"remotely" by the Customs Service, a procedure that allows for the supervision of export operations for consumption under the export cargo regime at the plant, without the need for inspectors to be present on-site.

The measure was established by the General Resolution 5770/2025, Published today (10/3/2025) in the Official Gazette, it establishes that authorized exporters with more than two years' standing in the ARCA importer/exporter registry will be able to access this procedure. The technical and operational requirements that exporters must meet are part of General Resolution 5721/2025, which regulates the export cargo regime at the plant and guarantees the correct implementation of the system.

According to ARCA, the new procedure uses video surveillance technologies, such as Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), to optimize customs controls, reduce waiting times and lower logistics costs.. The agency clarified that the General Directorate of Customs will be responsible for defining the control guidelines, managing the operating procedure, and executing a pilot plan to evaluate its implementation.

The first pilot test will be carried out in Mendoza and will then be extended to five other provinces.

The system is already in place, with an implementation schedule that will be published on the “Monitored Export” microsite of the ARCA website..

With this initiative, Argentina ensures that merchandise trade control is in line with international best practices and promotes more agile, transparent, and collaborative management.
