The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) will donate all seized or overdue merchandise containing shields, emblems or inscriptions of the Argentine soccer team, River or Boca, following an agreement signed with AFA authorities and the two clubs.
The agreement, as reported in a statement, enabled the body to donate thousands of shirts, balls and backpacks that were due to be destroyed due to trademark fraud and other irregularities.
The agreement with AFA, River and Boca allows Customs to make available to the Ministry of Social Development and the General Secretariat of the Presidency all merchandise that, tacitly or explicitly, refers to any of the three sports institutions.
The statistics of The DGA shows that around 60% of the seized sports clothing, as well as products with inscriptions of football clubs, mention River and Boca.
All products delivered by the agency headed by Silvia Traverso to the Ministry of Social Development and the General Secretariat of the Presidency were verified to ensure the safety of the products.
The first donation made after these agreements was more than 10.000 footballs with River, Boca and AFA identificationsThe certification was carried out by the laboratory of the Argentine Chamber of the Toy Industry.
The agreement allows for the donation of products seized in future proceedings.
