-

Within the framework of the classification consultation procedure in the Argentine Republic, the General Directorate of Customs issued Classification Criteria Nos. 106/24 to 135/24 for merchandise in the MERCOSUR Nomenclature (NCM). These decisions were established in two resolutions covering from the 106/24 al 120/24 and the 121/24 al 135/24.

The provisions mentioned were communicated through the General Resolutions 5576/2024 y 5574 / 2024, published this Thursday (26.09.2024) in the Official Gazette. These decisions respond to the processing of the Customs Classification Consultation of 30 files, a process that should have been sponsored, at the option of the interested party, by a customs agent or a legal professional, guaranteeing compliance with the corresponding legal grounds.

Following the request, according to the regulation, the procedure involved the Technical Department of Nomenclature and Tariff Classification, the Technical Directorate and the General Subdirectorate of Legal and Customs Technique of the General Directorate of Customs.

In line with the provisions of General Resolution 1618/2003, such decisions of a national binding nature will be communicated to the Ministry of Economy and to Technical Committee No. 1 on Tariffs, Nomenclature and Classification of Merchandise of the MERCOSUR Trade Commission, as established in Decision No. 03/03 of the CMC.
