The Guatemalan government enabled the Route CA-9 North which had been blocked due to damage caused by Tropical Depression Eta, the Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing (CIV) reported on Wednesday (11.11.2020).

Given such an inconvenience, The alternatives for transporters are the integrated stations of Agua Caliente and El Florido, which are in operation.
The Honduran Customs Administration reported that repair work is being carried out on the aforementioned road.

The CIV explained that the opening of Route CA-9 Norte was urgent, given its importance for the transport of 60% of export products, such as bananas, plantains, vegetables and other products, to the ports of Santo Tomás de Castilla, Puerto Barrios and Puerto Quetzal in Guatemala.
