Government launches 100 grain wagons in an operation

-

In what will be a historic event due to the magnitude of the cargo, President Mauricio Macri will give the order to depart the first shipment of 100 wagons loaded with cereals and oilseeds from the Aceitera General Deheza plant in Pampa del Infierno on Wednesday (20.09.2017).

The country is a novelty, as a convoy with this number of wagons has never been mobilized in a single operation, since previously they were loaded from 30 to a maximum of 45 wagons.

President Macri will launch this operation that is part of the railway recovery plan which is being carried out after inaugurating the modern grain and oilseed storage plant that Aceitera General Deheza (AGD) installed on the side of National Route 16, kilometer 252, and the C-12 railway branch.

The C12 branch begins its journey in Joaquín V. González (Salta), and goes down through Monte Quemado (Santiago del Estero), Río Muerto-Los Frentones-Pampa del Infierno-Avia Terai (Chaco); and from this town, it goes down to the Charata-Pinedo line (Chaco), Tostado-San Cristóbal-port of Santa Fe.

The national president, together with the governor of Corrientes Oscar Domingo Peppo, the mayor Carlos Andión, and the Minister of Transport of the Nation, Guillermo Dietrich, will inaugurate the storage plant in this town, marking a milestone in terms of the repowering of the region in terms of its productive capacity, but fundamentally in terms of the role of rail freight transport.

The Avia Terai-Joaquin V. Gonzalez link

The Avia Terai (Chaco) – Joaquín V. González (Salta) branch is a main and strategic axis for the national government's plans.

The Joaquín V. González station is the junction of two Salta branches, the C-18 that starts in Pichanal and runs through the departments of Orán and Anta; the C-12 that starts in Metán and runs through the departments of Orán and Anta, both branches join at this station and from there the C-12 continues to Avia Terai where the C-3 joins.

In this town, according to railway nomenclature, the so-called C-12 Branch ends and from here it is known as the C-3 Branch, which ends in the city of Resistencia.

Avia Terai is a convergence axis for the Chaco-Santiago del Estero railway branches, along the main line that goes to Santa Fe, and with the province of Salta along the C-12 branch to Metán.

But the national government's plan, at least at this stage, prioritizes the link from this town to the south, that is, passing through Pinedo to the towns and then the ports in the province of Santa Fe.
