Spring ban on hake set

The Joint Technical Commission has determined the limits of the protection area for spring. It will be in force from October 1 to December 31.

La Resolution 12 / 17 of the Joint Technical Commission established spring ban for hake in the Common Fishing Zone (ZCP).

The measure will take effect from the October 1st to December 31st inclusive.

The area, designed to protect concentrations of juveniles, will be delimited by the following geographical points, where trawling will also be prohibited:

34°30'S – 52°18'W
34°46'S – 51°53'W
36°10'S – 53°11'W
36°20'S – 54°00'W
36°05'S – 54°30'W

"In this sector, fishing for pelagic species will be permitted, exclusively with mid-water nets and during daylight hours," adds the regulation, published this Thursday (14.09.2017) in the Official Gazette.
