The Government made official the regulation of the Front Labeling Law, which requires those who manufacture, market or import, to comply with a series of indications on its label.
The regulations, published this Wednesday (23.03.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette, approved “the regulation of Law No. 27.642 on the Promotion of Healthy Eating”, whose objective is “to guarantee the right to health and healthy eating, providing simple and understandable nutritional information, to promote assertive and active decision-making and protect the rights of consumers.
In this way, companies will have to begin to adapt food packaging according to the Technical specifications detailed in an annex accompanying the official document.
According to Decree 151 / 2022, processed foods and beverages must bear black octagons measuring at least 5% of the size of the main face of the packaging when their composition exceeds a minimum threshold in each of these components. That is, they may bear one or more black seals.
According to the regulations, they are obligated subjects All those companies “that manufacture, produce, prepare, divide, package, order packaging or manufacture, distribute, market or import, that have placed their brand or are part of the value and marketing chain of food and non-alcoholic beverages for human consumption” throughout the country.
It is also noted that “commercial premises or points of sale, whether physical or online” are also subjects obliged to comply with the law.
