The Government reduced the period of settlement of foreign currency for exports of cracked corn

-

The national government has modified the deadline for the entry and settlement of foreign currency from cracked corn exports (Tariff Item 1104.23.00.000D of the Common Nomenclature of Mercosur), reducing it from 180 days to 15 calendar days.

"The measure is based on irregularities observed at a general level in the market for the aforementioned tariff item," the National Customs Directorate said in a statement.

He added: "On the one hand, 87% of the exported amount was registered by exporters with non-compliance in the entry of foreign currency to the BCRA. These operators owe the liquidation of 195 million dollars."

As a result of the traceability analysis in the domestic market - carried out jointly by the General Directorate of Customs and the General Directorate of Taxes, both belonging to the AFIP - it was detected that 48% of the operators are under inspection within the framework of IG No. 1041/19 (DI PYNF), referring to subjects who issue apocryphal invoices or have already been determined as a plant without operational, economic and/or financial capacity.

Specifically, Customs stated that "84 exporters were detected as plants without operational, economic and/or financial capacity, as well as 11 exporters in the process of being verified as possible plants."
