Chilean Customs seizes contraband perfumes in Quillagua

-

The National Customs Service seized this Thursday (24.08.2023) 151 fragrances of different types and brands that a Nepalese businessman hid in his vehicle.

According to customs authorities, the car was intercepted at the Quillagua outpost (Antofagasta Region) thanks to the use of scanner truck.

This procedure was triggered when a foreign businessman arrived at the customs control with a shipment of tools for Calama. To do so, he presented import declarations and paid taxes; however, the inspection using non-invasive technology allowed the detection of hidden boxes in the baseboards and different parts of the vehicle.

In this way, the inspectors managed to find 151 perfumes with a customs value of $3.028.462 pesos, among which are Dior Savage and Dior Home Intense, Victoria Secret, Versace Eros, Bad Boy Cobalt, Club de Nuit Intense Man and Urban Man, Hawas by Rasasi, Orientica Xclusif Oud and Amber Rouge, Shad, Qimmah and Ishq by Latafa, Victorinox Classic and others by Maison Alhambra.

The perfumes, of foreign origin, were intended to be sold in the Antofagasta Region and their concealment was intended to avoid paying taxes, thus constituting the crime of smuggling.

All the fragrances were seized, as was the vehicle used to conceal them.
