The Ministry of Economy has revoked the export refund for lithium, as well as the oxide, hydroxide, chloride and carbonate of the same mineral, considering that this incentive "has fulfilled the objectives for which it was duly established."
This is established by the Resolution 15 / 2023, published this Monday (16.01.2023/2805.19.90/2825.20.10) in the Official Gazette, and covers tariff items 2825.20.20; 2827.39.60; 2836.91.00; XNUMX and XNUMX of the Common Nomenclature of MERCOSUR (NCM).
The text states that "since its development, lithium mining has seen significant improvements in terms of competitiveness, technology and infrastructure."
"Taking into account electro-mobility, which has caused a change in the market, and the fact that the international scenario has seen an abrupt growth in the demand for lithium, which has produced an exponential increase in the price and thus in the profitability of the projects, it is understood that a stimulus such as the refund has fulfilled the objectives for which it was opportunely established," he concluded.
