The Government created the Federal Council of Foreign Relations and International Trade within the scope of the Chancellery, through the Decree 741 / 2020, published this Thursday (10.09.2020) in the Official Gazette.
The Council will function as forum for the exchange of consultations, advice and coordination between the national State, the provinces and the city of Buenos Aires, in matters relating to its international projection, regional integration, export promotion, investment attraction and international cooperation.
The decree specifies that this body will be responsible for developing foreign trade promotion strategies and dissemination of exportable offerings; and providing advice on the organisation and participation in fairs, business meetings and trade missions abroad;
Its tasks will also include developing strategies to promote, encourage and attract foreign investment; promoting the identification of markets and business opportunities abroad; and fostering international cooperation between the provinces and foreign public and private entities.
Recommendations and actions taken by the Council will not be binding for the State or the provinces.
