In order to proceed to update merchandise that correspond to specify being reached with any particular prohibitions or requirements For imports, the Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) in conjunction with the National Service for Food Safety and Quality (SENASA) issued the Joint General Resolution 5397/2023.
In the rule, the AFIP provided modify the box of the Annex to General Resolution No. 2.146 and its amendment as indicated below:
a) Replace sections 4, 5, 6, 8, 11, 12, 16 and 19 with those listed in the Annex I (IF-2023-01720861-AFIP-SATADVCOAD#SDGCTI), which is approved and forms part of this document.
b) Incorporate sections 25 to 33 listed in the Annex II (IF-2023-01721022-AFIP-SATADVCOAD#SDGCTI), which is approved and forms part of this document.
c) Repeal sections 1, 2, 3, 10 and 18.
Background
Law No. 27.233 declares animal and plant health to be of national interest; the prevention, control and eradication of diseases and pests that affect national forestry and agricultural production, flora and fauna; the quality of raw materials resulting from forestry and agricultural activities; the production, safety and quality of agro-foods and specific agricultural inputs; the control of chemical and microbiological residues and contaminants in food and the national and international trade of said products and by-products.
Thus, the rules that implement or regulate, among other actions, the development of actions aimed at preserving animal health are of national interest.
Thus the General Resolution No. 2.146 and its amendment, establishes the prohibitions on the importation of goods that have not been contemplated in other specific customs regulations.
Validity
This update of the scope of prohibitions regarding agri-food quality comes into effect today, August 7th, 2023, date of publication.
