The Central American Customs Committee decided this Friday (16.04.2021/2021/XNUMX) to agree on categorical actions to strengthen the capacities of the region's customs in terms of prevention, facilitation of legal trade and combating smuggling, during the second round of the Customs Union in the first half of XNUMX.
Official information indicates that the body made up of the directors of Customs of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Panama, approved the “Adoption to CENcomm3” document within the framework of the milestone “Virtual network of experts in risk management, including experts in post-auditing” of the Regional Strategy for Customs Risk Management (ERGIRA).

The Central American Customs Committee, whose rotating presidency is held by Costa Rica, also indicated that it decided to add to the Priority IT issues: the analysis of the incorporation of the Authorized Economic Operator code in the data of the Central American Single Declaration that must be used for trade in goods originating in the region (DUCA-F).
In addition, he detailed that the Secretariat for Central American Economic Integration (SIECA) presented the Central American Single Declaration for the Land Transport of Goods (DUCA-T) data boardIts objective is to improve regional customs activity, risk management, traceability and predictability of land transit operations of goods and the solidity of regional IT platforms.
Finally, the Committee noted that SIECA reported on the Progress of the first Regional Study of Dispatch Times in the Central American Pacific Corridor, a tool to strengthen customs management developed with funds from the European Union, through the Central American Regional Economic Integration Project (INTEC).
