In 2022, Argentina's trade exchange with the United States was 54,6% higher than in 2021.
The data comes from a study carried out by the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC) following President Alberto Fernández's visit to that country and the meeting he will hold this Wednesday (29.03.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX) with Joe Biden.
The report shows that last year, trade between Argentina and the United States was 16.880 million. In this way, bilateral trade was 54,6% greater than in 2021, growing for the second consecutive year. According to the CAC, the result comes after the decline suffered in the last three years, managing to significantly exceed the trade values of previous years.
In 2022, the exports from Argentina to the United States were 6616 billion dollars, which marked an increase of 32,5% compared to the previous year. Among the main exported products were crude oils (33,3% of the total), still wines, grape must (3,3%) and natural honey (2,3%).
Furthermore, the imports Argentines from the United States reached 10.264 billion dollars, implying an expansion of 73,3% compared to 2021. The most imported products were liquefied natural gas with 18,6% of the total, followed by diesel oil with 17,4% and vaccines for human medicine not included in other products put up for retail sale with 3,4%.

El trade balance Between Argentina and the United States there was a deficit of 3467 million dollars in 2022, reflecting a decrease in the negative balance compared to 2021, which had been $927 million.
In 2022, Argentine exports to the United States reached the highest historical value, surpassing the previous one in 2008 by 22,5% (period in which it reached 5402 million dollars) and leaving behind 2005 and 2017, years with 4570 million dollars and 4517 million dollars respectively.
For its part, imports grew strongly in 2022, also allowing them to reach an all-time high and exceed the previous record value of 2014 by 12,7% (a value that had risen to 9107 million dollars).
Finally, regarding the participation in the growth of bilateral trade, Argentine exports in the period 1993-2022 accounted for 45,5%, while imports from the United States, in the same period, contributed 54,5%.
