The Regional Directorate of Customs of Iquique made a donation of 400 skates to four non-profit institutions who work for the development of children and adolescents, the National Customs Service of Chile reported today (07.06.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX).
The merchandise had been seized in El Loa (north) and after a legal process and the respective favorable report, they could be used to support the community, the press release detailed.
El Regional Director of the Iquique Customs, Cristian Molina Silva, explained that the mission of his Service is to supervise and facilitate foreign trade. “We are concerned that everyone pays the respective taxes and respects international treaties and Chilean laws, to which we add the fight against smuggling and illegal goods. In these tasks, our inspectors intercepted these skates that were declared as lights,” said the director, who added that after a legal process they remained in the possession of the treasury through an alternative route and can now be donated.

Molina Silva said that donations are made to non-profit institutions from time to time and that before the goods are delivered there is an evaluation. “This is one of the many things we do and it fills us with pride to be able to collaborate and for the community to know that they can count on us in different areas of action,” she said.
The donation was received by Sandra Suazo Nuñez, from the Verito Canales Social, Cultural and Sports Center; Mauricio Muñoz Cordero, from the Cordillera Foundation, which supports the Nazareth Catholic School; Natalia Valdés Gacitúa, Regional Coordinator of the Children First Foundation; and Patricia Díaz Galeas, Executive Director of the Children in the Footprint Foundation.
"Each institution received 100 pairs of different numbers," said the Chilean National Customs Service.
