On September 18 and 19, officials from the Mercosur Trade Commission participated in a meeting in the city of Montevideo that concluded with the Approval of the “Action Plan – Draft Agreement on Mutual Recognition of Authorized Economic Operator Programs”.
In this way, the technicians of the decision-making body of the four States Parties, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay, as well as Bolivia, a country in the process of accession, added their signature with the aim of move towards a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) for Mercosur OAS Programs, he says minutes of the meeting.
The AEO is a mechanism that allows customs to improve risk management and provide facilities to beneficiary companies during customs controls, resulting in a substantial reduction in the costs and times of commercial transactions. Each company authorized as an AEO obtains operational facilities to negotiate with other companies from member countries of the regional bloc.
