Several customs authorities from Central America have carried out a visit to the Electronic Data Processing Center of the National Customs Agency of Mexico (ANAM), located in the state of Querétaro (center).
According to official sources, the working visit was sponsored by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) so that those responsible for customs in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica, to have first-hand knowledge of the place from which the entry and exit processes of goods in Mexico are monitored in real time.
This good practice experience included a tour of the Bombardier aircraft plant, where officials learned about the importance of having agile and transparent foreign trade procedures during customs management for the tractor companies and their suppliers.
Central America has been implementing a Digital Trade Platform since 2015. In this regard, it is worth highlighting that the project, coordinated by the IDB, financed by the European Union and executed by the Secretariat for Central American Economic Integration (SIECA), is an essential pillar, as it seeks commercial integration and provides technological infrastructure for trade facilitation.
Aduana News is the first Argentine customs newspaper to launch its digital version. With 20 years of experience, its publications and initiatives aim to provide the most relevant knowledge on customs issues in order to contribute to safe trade in the region.
