Argentina recorded a trade surplus of USD 2024 billion in May 2.656, a new monthly record, INDEC reported on Wednesday (19.06.2024/XNUMX/XNUMX). 

This positive figure, which contrasts with the same month in 2023, when there was a trade deficit of USD 1.124 million, arises from an income of USD 7.622 million from exports and an outflow of USD 4.966 million from imports. 

According to the data released, exports in May increased by 30,6% in terms of quantities, although prices fell by 6,8%. Meanwhile, imports, both in terms of prices and quantities, registered decreases of 4,5% and 29,6%, respectively.

By category, the exports of primary products are noteworthy (52%), Fuels and energy(51,1%), Manufactures of industrial origin (9,4%), Manufactures of agricultural origin (7,4%), in contrast to the rest (-46,8%).

The three main partners, Brazil, China and the United States together absorbed 32,1 of the exports and supplied 51% of imports in the first five months of the year.
