Argentina: June tax collection grew by only 24%

-

The Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) reported on Monday that tax revenues increased by just 24% in June, totaling $174.597 billion.

The year-on-year increase is thus approximately twenty percentage points below the inflation accumulated over the last twelve months.

Income tax grew by just under 14%, totaling some $48.970 billion to the public treasury. Meanwhile, value-added tax (VAT) also had a positive performance, rising by 40,5% ($47.800 billion).

Social Security resources raised $42.489 billion (37%), while the tax on bank debits and credits contributed a total of $11.227 billion (45%).

The first three taxes (income, VAT and contributions) represent almost 80% of the total tax revenue obtained by the State in the sixth month of the year.

In foreign trade, Import Duties and others were $4.724 million (64%), while Export Duties totaled another $4.931 million (showing a 53% year-on-year drop).
