The national government will participate this Thursday (05.08.2021) in the Ministerial Meeting of the G20 Digital Economy Group in Trieste, Italy, where access to technologies, the digitalization of States and the promotion of industry 4.0, among other axes, will be addressed.
According to the statement, in the meeting convened by Italy in its capacity as rotating President of the Group of 20 nations most industrialized on the planet, the Secretariat of Public Innovation of the Office of the Chief of Ministers of the Nation will intervene, a focal point for coordination of more than fifteen specialized inter-ministerial technical teams of the Argentine Digital Economy Group.
The Argentine delegation on Digital Economy will focus on Digital transformation in production for sustainable development, Connectivity and social inclusion, and Digital tools for the continuity of public services.
In addition, Argentina will hold bilateral meetings with Indonesia (the next G20 Presidency), Japan, Brazil and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the statement said.
The G20 Digital Economy Group developed its work schedule based on two axes: the Digital Economy and Digital Government.
In this context, the Argentine government reported that at the previous meetings of the G20 Digital Economy Group, in May, the first conversations were held on consumer protection and awareness and blockchain for traceability in the digital economy.
Members of the Undersecretariat of Open Government and Digital Country, and the Undersecretariat of Administrative Innovation, both from the Secretariat of Public Innovation, and the Undersecretariat of Knowledge Economy from the Ministry of Productive Development, participated in that meeting.
The G20 is a multilateral body that brings together the European Union and 19 countries, considered the most important economies in the world. Its members represent 80% of the world's GDP, 75% of trade and 60% of the population. The Presidency leads the talks, proposes priorities and sets the agenda. (Press release from the Chief of Staff)
