The Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) established temporary protection and tax relief measures for taxpayers belonging to the health sector, through the General Resolution 5154/2022.

According to the regulations, published this Monday (21.02.2022), is suspended until December 31, 2022 the initiation of tax enforcement proceedings and the blocking of seizures for entities and companies belonging to the sector.

The exception applies to medical-assistance providers; mental health institutions; rehabilitation establishments, nursing homes, medical emergency companies and home hospitalization providers of Social Security or the National Institute of Social Services for Retirees and Pensioners (INSSJP) and/or Health Insurance Agents. It also includes national and provincial social works.

The law states that the AFIP will not waive its powers in cases of "serious damage to the interests of the Treasury or imminent statute of limitations."

Until the end of 2021, tax executions were suspended for all economic sectors as part of the measures implemented by the Government to alleviate the effects of the pandemic. Now the benefit has only been renewed for the health sector.
