AFIP: The moratorium allowed the regularization of almost $50.000 billion

-

The federal administrator of Public Revenue, Alberto Abad, reported this Wednesday (11.01.2017) that some 225 thousand taxpayers have so far regularized debts with the treasury for 49.700 billion through payment facility plans contemplated within the framework of money laundering.

The so-called Fiscal Amnesty is one of the chapters approved by Congress along with the disclosure of assets and capital, which so far totals some 100 billion dollars.

"It is not a bad idea for citizens to know that they have this benefit., Abad said during a meeting with journalists at the AFIP headquarters.

According to the data provided by the official, since August 1, when the moratorium was launched, 252.700 regularization plans have been granted.

Of these, 39.000 billion pesos, 80 percent of those declared, correspond to medium and large companies that are represented in 48 thousand Unique Tax Identification Codes (CUIT), 22 percent of the total.

Micro and small businesses, on the other hand, declared debts of 10.700 billion pesos, 20 percent of the total, corresponding to 177.000 CUITS, 78 percent of the universe.

67 percent are new plans and 33 percent are reformulations of old plans, and of this group, half are a recovery of a 120-installment plan launched by the previous government shortly before ending its term.

The AFIP highlighted that 78 percent of the beneficiaries are small taxpayers, while 6 percent cancelled debt in cash in 2016 by 7.267 million pesos.

On the other hand, 38 billion pesos declared correspond to taxpayers considered by the agency to be of 'low conduct'.

La Current moratorium is in effect until March 31 and allows refinancing of debts with a 15 percent discount (cash payment).

For the general public, the plan consists of a 5 percent down payment, up to 60 installments at a rate of 1,5 percent per month.

For micro and small businesses, payment of 10 percent is expected, up to 90 installments and an average passive rate from Banco Nación, which today is equivalent to 1,37 percent.

For medium-sized companies, a 15 percent payment is contemplated, up to 90 installments and at the average rate of the Nation, but not less than 1,5 percent, while for large companies there is no payment on account, with 90 installments and 1 percent monthly interest.

At the end of the moratorium, permanent payment plans will come into effect that do not include discounts for cash payments and are granted in only 6 installments.
