Chilean Customs to hold second electronic auction: what items are available and how to participate

-

The National Customs Service of Chile announced that it will carry out the second selectronic auction of the year between the September 22nd and 24th.

The online auction puts 155 lots available to those interested. Among the featured products are 87 vehicles, 8 buses, 4 dump trucks and 1 crane truck, all of them without traffic restrictions. In addition, cell phones and 6 lots with high-tech multifunctional beds will be on offer.

The auction will be held in fully electronic format Through the page www.subastaaduanera.cl , in which it is already possible review the details of the lots, as well as the conditions and important notes for participation.

Regional and customs authorities met at the Iquique Port Company to show some of the lots that will be auctioned.

The Presidential Delegate of the Tarapacá Region, Miguel Angel Quezada, He highlighted the auction from the perspective of the progress associated with the digitalisation promoted by the government. He also valued the fact that the management is from Iquique for the entire country, “which also reflects the decentralisation and the efforts made by the Iquique customs to generate income for the benefit of the public treasury”.

The Administrative Deputy Director of Customs, Gustavo Poblete, He pointed out that “the pandemic has left us with great opportunities for improvement. Among them, the Service began a technological process with which we have advanced in terms of electronic auctions. This allowed us to broaden the horizon of people who participate in these auctions. When they were in person, we reached 200 or 300 people, but in this new format, we are reaching 6. In addition, we increased tax collection, which as a Service dependent on the Ministry of Finance is extremely relevant because we increased the amounts collected for social projects that are so necessary today. In addition, on this occasion, for the first time, we managed to decentralize the customs auction and for that reason we went to the Tarapacá region to present the auction.”

Furthermore, the Regional Director of the Iquique Customs, Cristian Molina, He indicated that "it is a very attractive auction both for the number of lots and for the goods that are being auctioned. They are 155 lots. Among them there are 100 vehicles, of which 87 are cars and 3 dump trucks. Of note are 8 new buses, in very good condition. On the other hand, we have cell phones and other types of technology. We are very happy because it is an auction that is centralized in Iquique, but being electronic allows for massive participation.”

How to participate

Among the important characteristics to participate in this auction, the following security elements remain: use of the Unique Key to access the site and the requirement for prior payment of guarantees to make any bid, corresponding to 20% of the initial value of the lot. The deadline for payment of these guarantees expires on September 20 at 8:00 a.m.

On this occasion, all the goods are managed by the Iquique Customs Office. The Service reported that “one of the advantages of the electronic auction is that, despite the fact that on this occasion the products are stored in the Tarapacá Region, it is possible to visit the catalogue electronically and participate in the auction from anywhere. The only requirements are prior registration and the deposit of guarantees 48 hours before the start of the auction.”

The second edition of the Customs Auction 2021 will be held in two stages: the first among the  September 22 at 08:00 hrs. and September 23 at 10:00 hrs. The second stage will open on September 23 at 10:00 hrs., and conclude on the 24th at 12:00 hrs.
