Customs and USAL will hold an academic event on “Current Affairs in Customs Valuation” in Buenos Aires

The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) and the University of El Salvador (USAL) will offer, Thursday, November 10th, an academic event in the City of Buenos Aires on “Update on Customs Valuation", the organizers reported today.

The event, which will be held in person at the San Ignacio de Loyola Auditorium of the USAL, will provide an opportunity for constructive dialogue between public sector officials and representatives of the Argentine and foreign private sectors.

To this end, the event will be presented at the opening by Attorney Guillermo Michel, Director General of Customs; Magistrate Miguel N. Licht, President of the National Tax Court, and Magistrate Livia Uriol, Dean of Legal Studies at USAL.

On first panel about "Royalties and License Fees"The following will participate: Cdor. Horacio Alonso (ADIP-DGA), Esp. Juan Pablo Pizzi (Private Firm), Atty. Enrique Carlos Barreira (Private Firm), Cdor. Gustavo Bustamante (AFIP DGA) and will be coordinated by Atty. Gisela Montenegro (AFIP DGA).

Another of the topics is “Procedures and value studies", in which Esp. Juan Manuel Francia of AFIP DGA will be coordinator.

To that second panel The event will be attended by Colonel Miguel Galeano from the Customs Clearance Center, Attorney Guillermo Felipe Coronel, from Private Law Firm, and Magistrate Santiago Alais, from Private Law Firm.

It will also be discussed in a third panel about "Underbilling and overbilling“, whose participants are Cdora. Mónica Noemí Munro, an official of the AFIP DGA; Attorney Juan Patricio Cotter, from Estudio Privado, and Sp. Pablo Sebastián Borgna, an official of the AFIP DGA.

Meanwhile, in the fourth panel entitled "Customs criminal law and value issues”. The following will participate in the debate: Guillermo Vidal Albarracín (Private Firm), Atty. Alejandro Catania (Judge PE), Lic. Marcelo F. Lista (AFIP DGA), Atty. Francisco Menéndez (Private Firm) and the coordinator will be Atty. Mariano Sejem (AFIP DGA).

Finally, the fifth panel The day will deal with the topic "Questions of value in comparative law”. Dr. Leandro Macedo from Brazil, Dr. Marco Antonio Huamán Siater from Peru, Dr. Pablo Labandera from Uruguay, and Attorney Pablo Adrián Garbarino from Argentina will participate in the analysis. The coordination will be in charge of Dr. María Luisa Carbonell from AFIP DGA.

El closure The day will be headed by Carlos Castagneto (Administrator of the Federal Public Revenue Administration), Carlos Sueiro (General Secretary of SUPARA) and Francisco Loizzo (President of the CDA).

This academic event is sponsored by the National Tax Court, the Argentine Association of Constitutional Justice, the Transdisciplinary Institute of Criminal Studies of South America (ITEPSUR), the Single Union of Customs Personnel of the Argentine Republic (SUPARA) and the Center of Customs Brokers (CDA).
