In the framework of a new advance by the Government on export controls to avoid currency leaks, Customs is moving forward in establishing reference prices for the Export of concentrated must and fresh or chilled pear tomatoes, according to the Télam agency.
The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) expressed through a statement that "theReference values are a tool that allows detecting under-invoicing operations in exports«.
It should be remembered that at the end of January, reference prices were established for the export of beef cuts included in 10 tariff items. These are added to those that, based on the analysis of different production complexes and industries, theCustoms set a limit for exports of blueberries, powdered milk, onions, potatoes, raisins and corvina in 2020.
These witness prices offer a First control to safeguard the fiscal interest to detect deviations with respect to the usual values for identical or similar merchandise. In the event of differences, an investigation is initiated which, if the abusive maneuver in foreign trade is confirmed, may result in fines at Customs or complaints to the courts, was detailed in the statement cited by Télam.
According to the DGA, the establishment of these reference values not only attempts to dismantle possible tax evasion maneuvers and abusive practices that affect the entry of foreign currency into the exchange market: it also ends up affecting operators who comply with the rules due to the unfair practice that it implies.
In December 2015, there were more than 1100 specific products with reference values, covering almost 900 tariff items. The previous government carried out a gradual dismantling of the tool until, in November 2017, it repealed the regulations that allowed the establishment of reference values.
