El Central American Customs Committee, under the Pro Tempore Presidency of Guatemala, concluded this Friday the first ordinary meeting of two days (August 11 and 12, 2022), according to the Guatemalan tax authority
The Directors and representatives of the companies participated in the meeting in person. Customs of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama, with the technical support of the SIECA.
According to conclusions disseminated, the Central American Customs Committee approved the following issues:
- Approval of the Plan and schedule of the Work Plan for the second half of 2022.
- Adoption of the Declaration of Ethics and Transparency by the Central American Customs Administrations.
- Approval of the Regulation on the International Land Customs Transit Regime.
- Analysis of good practices at the Regional Workshop on Non-Commercial Express Shipments in collaboration with the World Bank
It should be noted that the Central American Customs Committee is an example for the world and for other forums due to its coordinated work for more than 15 years. This important body of the Convention on the Central American Tariff and Customs Regime responds to the needs of reactivation and restructuring of the economic integration process, as well as the economic and social development of the respective countries.
