Introducing the new economic team, Azucena Arbeleche assured that the ministry will be organized under two spheres, one under economic policy that will be coordinated by Marcela Bensión and another part of finance that will include the income and expenses of the treasury that will be coordinated by Fernando Blanco.
In the area of economic policy, Hernán Bonilla will join as director of the Macroeconomic Advisory Service and Pia Biestro will head the Tax Advisory Service.
In the area of Finance, Magela Manfredi will be the director of the National Budget Unit. The General Tax Directorate will be headed by Margarita Faral and the National Customs Directorate will continue to be headed by Cr. Jaime Borgiani.
The National Lottery and Quinielas Directorate will be headed by Ricardo Berois and the National Cadastre Directorate by Augusto Alcalde.
The General Treasurer of the Nation will be Romero Atanasio, the General Accountant of the Nation will be Susana Pesquera and the Internal Audit of the Nation will have Pablo Morelli as director.
At her inauguration ceremony, the minister emphasized "economic policy as a tool to improve the well-being of the population" and said that coordination with other ministries will continue.
"The work ahead of us is in the hands of all MEF officials. Those who already know me know that I work as a team and that I value each and every position in this ministry," said Arbeleche.
"I invite every official to always keep this in mind: that their task, whatever it may be, is contributing to implementing the policies of this ministry that are for our country," he concluded.
It is recalled that Jaime Borgiani is a Certified Public Accountant who graduated from the University of the Republic of Uruguay and has served as National Director of Customs since August 2019.
