The Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) and the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI) will promote joint actions in the economic, social and commercial spheres of the region.
According to a statement from SELA, based in Caracas, the The memorandum of understanding was signed on October 27, 2017 by the Permanent Secretary of SELA, Ambassador Javier Paulinich, and the Secretary General of the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI), Alejandro de la Peña Navarrete, at the facilities of this organization in the city of Montevideo, Uruguay.
The document states that Both parties will promote economic and institutional cooperation focused on facilitating trade in processes associated with digitalization., simplification and harmonization of procedures in accordance with international standards, including digital certification of origin, certified electronic signature, and electronic commerce; as well as the development of capacities and skills that allow for greater efficiency, transparency, and security within the framework of regional integration.
