The Secretary of Foreign Trade of the Nation, Marisa Bircher, participated on Monday (20.5.2019) in a breakfast with professionals, organized by the CAECE University.

The Argentine official then She commented that since her tenure at the Secretariat, she has been dedicated to promoting exports through three priority axes: “opening markets, eliminating bureaucracy and simplifying foreign trade.” These axes, he pointed out, are being carried out in parallel with a major effort to improve the infrastructure.
Agreements: 178 open markets
In the belief of Argentina's limitless potential and that “All economic sectors have an opportunity in the world,” Bircher pointed out the different works that were carried out with a view to returning Argentina to its presence on the agendas of international trade negotiations.
Regarding agreements, he highlighted the opening of 178 markets in the world to strengthen the export of Argentine products, with the aim of introducing value-added foods and knowledge-based services.
The graduate in International Trade emphasized the importance of strengthening MERCOSUR since it is the main supplier of food in the world and also, through a clear openness policy, it is close to closing agreements with the European Union, Canada and the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA,for its acronym in English).
Simplify: the key to export more
Bircher stressed the importance of simplifying the processes that make it possible to increase exports. Since December 2015 to date, important measures have been achieved in this regard, such as the VUCE (Single Window for Foreign Trade) and the regimen Export Simple, with which they were reached better levels of operation in the region and facilitated small businesses to sell abroad, through a more agile and simple route for exports. These actions made it possible to simplify procedures that took hours and reduce costs., indicated the Secretary of Foreign Trade.
