The Federal Public Revenue Administration has incorporated into the “Mi AFIP” application a service so that taxpayers can obtain and recover their tax code through facial recognition, using any cell phone.
"The implementation of this tool will save time and effort for some 60 thousand people per month, who will no longer have to go to AFIP agencies to request or recover their passwords, since they will be able to do so digitally.", the organization said in a statement.
It is a mobile application integrated into “My AFIP”, which can be used from any mobile device with a front camera and Internet access. Initially, it will only be available for the Android system.
The service can already be used from this Thursday (16.5.2019), as planned by the General resolution 4.486/2019, published in the Official Gazette.
It was confirmed that the tax code with security level three can also be managed digitally; since until now only the tax code with security level 2 could be processed, without having to go to the tax offices.
Three steps
The procedure that taxpayers must use from the app requires three steps: 1. Scan the code on your ID to verify your identity; 2. Capture an image of your face in certain positions with the phone's camera; 3. Generate the tax code, which will then be used for validation on the AFIP website.
Those who wish to access this service must be of legal age and have an Argentine DNI in card format..
