Senasa prevented the entry of more than 14 tons of agricultural foods

During the first quarter of the year, the National Service of Health and Agri-Food Quality (Senasa) seized 14.423 kilograms of products of animal and vegetable origin, in controls carried out on the luggage of 1.821.000 passengers at border points in the metropolitan area to prevent the entry of pests and diseases, and maintain the zoophytosanitary status of national agri-food production.

Of the total animal and plant products seized, 12.552 kilograms were at Ezeiza Airport; 670 kg at El Palomar Airport; 485 kg at Aeroparque; 426 kg at Buquebús; 156 kg at Colonia Express, 90 kg at the Tigre International Pier and 45 kg at San Fernando Airport, according to the statement.

>Senasa personnel inspected the luggage of passengers who arrived in the country on 917 ships and 12.183 planes. The controls were carried out at the port terminals of Buquebús, Colonia Express and Muelle Internacional Tigre and at the airports of Ezeiza, El Palomar and San Fernando and the Jorge Newbery airport.

In addition, the agency certified the entry of 2936 pets. Of this total, 1.934 entered through Ezeiza Airport, 870 through Buquebús, 74 through Aeroparque, 46 through San Fernando Airport; 9 through Tigre International Pier and 3 through El Palomar Airport.
