The Government has updated the Customs Transit Security Initiative (ISTA), a mechanism for controlling land transit operations for the import of goods, establishing that foreign trade operators must register electronic customs monitoring seals.
The measure, published in the General resolution 4505/2019 From the Official Gazette of this Thursday (13.06.2019), it states that "ISTA providers must register their Electronic Customs Monitoring Seals (PEMA), in accordance with the provisions of the microsite "ISTA” from the website of this Agency (www.afip.gob.ar). "
The text clarifies that "The Electronic Customs Monitoring Seal (PEMA) that is not registered, may not be used for customs operations covered by this general resolution.l.»
And the presence in the primary customs zone of any Electronic Customs Monitoring Seal (PEMA) that is not active and current in the registry is prohibited, the resolution says.
The measure signed by the head of the Federal Public Revenue Administration, Leandro Cuccioli, comes into effect immediately.
