Rosario recovers Bolivia's Free Trade Zone

-

On May 20, the city of Rosario (center) will recover a piece of land that is currently part of the Bolivian free trade zone, and which occupies about two hectares on the coastal coast of the city located in the province of Santa Fe.

«Bolivia announced the return of the current property, which the Municipality of Rosario will take possession of on May 20", the Argentine Foreign Ministry reported in a statement.

The restitution of the 5500-meter-long Paraná River shoreline and 60 meters wide property was confirmed on Monday (7.5.2019) during a meeting of the Joint Commission of the Bolivian Free Trade Zone Agreement; in compliance with the commitments reached by Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie with his Bolivian counterpart, and ratified by Presidents Mauricio Macri and Evo Morales.

The Rosario municipality will turn the land, located at the foot of the Flag Monument, into one of the tourist attractions of this Argentine city.

Buenos Aires and La Paz will look for a place to relocate the Bolivian free trade zone "in a new space that meets the modern needs of river transport and that allows the use of the facilities provided by our country for port operations, thus increasing the volume of cargo transported by Bolivia and achieving its full integration into the Paraguay-Paraná Waterway system," the text stated.
