Starting on Friday, the 9th of this month, commercial premises, warehouses and available land under the control of the General Directorate of Customs may be used.

This is the first free trade zone in the country with retail businesses, for the sale of automobiles, computer products, cosmetics, clothing, jewelry and construction materials, among others.

But wholesale trade and the provision of services will also be permitted. In particular, the industrial sector will benefit from the import of raw materials, inputs, machinery and equipment.

The Río Gallegos free trade zone is located on a 14-hectare fenced-in area on the outskirts of the provincial capital, with access to the Punta Loyola Sea Port, the Río Gallegos airport and the border with Chile.

This is the 13th free trade zone to be opened in the country and the second in the Patagonian region.

The main objective of these ventures is to promote trade and industrial export activity. by reducing costs and simplifying administrative procedures, while also offering tax incentives.
