A joint training strategy on illegal trade and finance was launched by the General Directorate of Customs (DGA) and the United States Department of Homeland Security (HSI).
Since May 9, the two organizations have been developing increasing cooperation to combat transnational crimes such as smuggling and money laundering.
Authorities from the Judiciary of the Nation, security forces —dependent on the Ministry of Security of the Nation—, personnel from Customs Investigations, Procelac and Procunar participate in this two-day training. It takes place in the central Customs building.
The event was opened by the Director General of Customs, Diego Dávila; David Emond, HSI attaché; and Rodrigo Bonini, National Director of Investigations of the Ministry of National Security.
At the opening of the meeting, Dávila highlighted: "For us, it is a real pride that Customs has been selected to organize this training.«.
«I am very grateful to the Ministry of Security and the Embassy of the United States for the ongoing support we receive, given that these issues are of utmost importance to the daily work of the officials present.", said the director of Customs.
