The National Service for Food Safety and Quality (Senasa) provides recommendations on what you should not bring into Argentina after your vacation abroad.
For the purposes of prevention against pests and diseasess that may affect national agricultural production, passengers returning to the country are requested to keep in mind that it is prohibited to bring in certain products and by-products of animal and plant origin without the corresponding authorization.
“In summer, passenger movement increases, Senasa is present at the borders "to prevent the entry of pests and diseases through travelers. We are reinforcing our action, especially because there is a higher profile of people entering the country," says Ricardo Cafferata of the International Traffic Department of Senasa.
“We are a country that produces food, which exports them and we are recognized internationally. We can access and even expand these international markets if we maintain and improve the country's health status. All these prevention measures at borders try to sustain this strength," added the Senasa official.
