The Government is making available to different producers and exporters in the agricultural sector a digital tool through which they can formally request the opening of external markets for their products.
This is established by the Resolution No. 74/2019 , published this Thursday (03.10.2019) in the Official Gazette, whose text indicates that to make said request, interested parties must enter through the Remote Procedures (TAD) platform on the website www.tramitesadistancia.gob.ar, under the name "Application for Market Opening for Agroindustrial Products".
The regulations state that to begin the process, the applicant must complete a brief form, specifying the destination country, the product of interest and a justification regarding the importance of the requested market, in order to evaluate the potential of the commercial opportunity.
The market is then analysed and its prioritisation is determined within the framework of ongoing bilateral negotiations or its initiation in the case of new negotiations.
After completing more than 230 market openings and reopenings over the last 4 years, generating a wide variety of commercial opportunities for different products from the Argentine agro-industrial sector, This new tool will also help to assess the priorities to be given to the more than 600 health negotiations currently underway.
In order to manage this volume of trading more efficiently, The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries together with Senasa also developed a prioritization matrix, which takes into account Argentina's supply, global demand, existing import tariffs, trade flows, competitiveness vis-a-vis other suppliers, among others.
Both procedures allow for drawing up a roadmap with greater precision and clarity regarding where to make the most effort, taking into account that a health negotiation requires the involvement of a large number of technical areas throughout the process and that in the vast majority of cases they extend for at least one year.
Aduana News is the first Argentine customs newspaper to launch its digital version. With 20 years of experience, its publications and initiatives aim to provide the most relevant knowledge on customs issues in order to contribute to safe trade in the region.
