Officials from Peru's National Service for Food Safety and Quality (Senasa) and the Peruvian Agricultural Health Service held a meeting in Buenos Aires where they presented the preliminary report on the audit visit to Argentine meat-packing establishments by Peruvian inspectors.
The Peruvian delegation of inspectors inspected the Argentine health system in meat-packing establishments in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Santa Fe and La Pampa, according to the Senasa statement.
Senasa veterinarian Angela Gentile explained that "colleagues from Senasa in Peru verified meat processing plants for beef, bovine offal and blood derivatives in Santa Fe, La Pampa and Buenos Aires with the aim of enabling them to export their production to that country."
“The Peruvian Service agents were very satisfied with the training and professionalism of the Senasa staff and the system used for sanitary control that ensures the safety of Argentine products for export,” said the Senasa professional.

It should be noted that so far in 2018, Peru imported boneless beef, fresh or chilled for 34.609 kilos and US$ 368.763; boneless beef, frozen for 2.047 kilos and US$ 23.995; and remains of frozen bovine species for 919.212 kilos and US$ 775.856.
The meetings held in Buenos Aires were attended by Ubaldo Helden Flores Barrueta, César Fernando Rojas Adrianen, Marco Antonio Montenegro Idrogo and Eugenia Martínez Bermúdez, who were accompanied by professionals and technicians from the national directorates of Animal Health and Food Safety and Quality of the Organization, together with the team from the International Relations Coordination.
